Alyssa graduated from the University of Illinois with her bachelors in Social Work and Masters in Social work in 2013. She has been working in the mental health field for the past six years and has experience working with people who are express difficulty with substance use, physical/sexual/environmental traumas, anxiety, depression, bipolar, personality disorders, family and marital stress, and relationship conflicts. She uses modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Guided Imagery. She also is experienced with working with ages as young as 11 and her oldest client is in their 70s. Alyssa’s self-care strategies include hiking in the mountains, camping, walking her dog, spending time with her husband and friends, getting regular massages, working out by weightlifting and doing Crossfit, reading and spending time in reflection.
