Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialization

Earn the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialization from Leadership in Action by completing the self-guided Modules and webinars. This Specialization focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion skills including respect, trust, personal accountability, defining micro-aggressions and allyship.  Each Module/webinar will need to completed in full before moving on to the next one. The Modules and webinar included in this Specialization includes:

  1. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: The Basics Webinar
  2. Developing Emotional Intelligence- The Golden Rule
  3. Talk Like A Leader- Holding Yourself Accountable
  4. How To Have Tough Conversations About Diversity & Race Webinar
  5. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Addressing Micro-Aggressions
  6. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Allyship

Each Module in the Specialization is worth six (6) LiA points and the webinars are worth eight (8) LiA points. This Specialization will take a total of approximately 6 hours to complete. 

If any Modules/webinars in the Specialization have been previously completed (great job!), they will be marked as completed within three (3) business days of you registering for the Specialization. You are not required to complete them again. You can, however re-watch any aspects of the Specialization. Please note that additional points will not be awarded for re-watching any pieces of the Specialization.

    After you register, you can then start to complete through the Leadership in Action Modules and webinars. There are six (6) total courses in the package. 

    If you have already completed a Module or webinar listed, don't worry you do not need to do it again. Once you register, the courses will be updated by the National Staff within three (3) business days to reflect previously earned points.

    For the first of three sessions, experts from Inclusion Strategy Solutions, LLC, Wendy Amengual Wark and Paula T. Edgar, Esq will provide us with a foundational baseline of diversity, equity and inclusion vocabulary and concepts, illustrate the importance of empathy and provide tools and resources to facilitate the navigation of DEI issues.

    The first session in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion resources with Inclusion Strategy Solutions LLC experts, Wendy Amengual Wark and Paula T. Edgar, Esq.

    This session will provide a foundational baseline of diversity, equity and inclusion vocabulary and concepts, illustrate the importance of empathy and provide tools and resources to facilitate the navigation of DEI issues.

    Wendy Amengual Wark, a Partner of Inclusion Strategy Solutions LLC has worked in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion for more than 20 years. Wendy is in demand as a speaker and presenter and is the author of the blog “All Things Inclusion” and the upcoming book, “Let’s Not Be Polite: Overcoming Barriers to Inclusion.” Wendy has been a diversity thought leader in the public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors throughout “The Evolution of Inclusion.”

    Paula T. Edgar, Esq., an attorney and Partner of Inclusion Strategy Solutions LLC, has worked and consulted in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion for more than 10 years. Paula speaks and consults on these topics by advising, facilitating workshops, professional development training, and providing keynote speeches. Paula has worked extensively with clients to develop and advance DEI initiatives across sectors. Paula is also an expert in inclusive executive/leadership development, professional branding, networking, social media, and career strategies. Paula has demonstrated leadership in numerous civic organizations and she is the immediate past President of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association (MBBA), New York State’s largest black bar association.

    Paula’s professional experiences include serving as the founder and CEO of PGE LLC (a speaking, consulting and executive coaching firm), the inaugural Chief Diversity Officer at New York Law School and as an attorney in the Law Enforcement Division of the New York City Commission on Human Rights.

    Paula received her B.A. in Anthropology from the California State University (Fullerton) and her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law. She was recognized by The Network Journal Magazine as a “40 Under Forty” Achievement Awardee, a Ms. JD “Woman of Inspiration” and a “Rising Star” by A Better Chance.

    You will earn six (6) LiA points for completing this Module, Talk Like A Leader- Holding Yourself Accountable. This is a self-guided Module through interactive slides and exercises.     Successful completion of this Module will increase your knowledge and ability to:

    • Establish trust to improve your personal accountability.
    • How to proactively seek and act on feedback.
