The Executive Leadership Program’s Tier 1, "Leading Yourself" (Basic), will serve as your cornerstone, which the entire program is built upon. It's designed to refine and elevate the inherent skills you possess as a collegiate student and a Member of Phi Sigma Pi. This tier establishes the leadership foundation for you, specifically. You'll focus on self-awareness, effective collaboration, and integrating leadership into your daily life. With 93% of employers recognizing the pivotal role of soft skills in their hiring decisions, the Executive Leadership Program equips candidates with a comprehensive toolkit of leadership competencies This tier is instrumental in preparing you for your leadership journey. The Tier 1 curriculum encompasses three fundamental elements:
True Colors
As an Executive Leadership Program candidate, you'll embark on a transformative journey of leadership self-discovery through the True Colors Inventory. This course will help you uncover your unique leadership style and provide actionable insights on how to collaborate seamlessly with others. By understanding your personal strengths, communication preferences, and working dynamics, you'll acquire essential skills to establish honest, balanced relationships and foster productive teamwork.
17 Characteristics of an Excellent Member
Central to your journey in the Executive Leadership Program are the 17 Characteristics of an Excellent Member. You were first introduced to these 17 Characteristics during your Phi Sigma Pi Initiation Program. Now, you'll dive deep into these characteristics, which have been carefully honed into the program's six competencies (or skills). This segment will give you an enriched understanding of these characteristics, serving as the solid foundation upon which your leadership development will be built.
Everyday Leadership
Drawing inspiration from the enlightening speech, "Everyday Leadership," by Drew Dudley, a TED Talk presenter and the 2023 Phi Sigma Pi keynote speaker, you'll learn that leadership goes beyond formal roles and titles. This course emphasizes the profound truth that you, as an individual, possess the power to be a leader through positive influence in your daily interactions. This course will empower you to integrate leadership principles into your everyday life, magnifying your impact and contribution.
Throughout Tier 1, you'll engage in a dynamic learning experience that blends interactive exercises, self-assessments, and thought-provoking discussions.
